Privacy Statement

We (operators of this website and developers of X10Receiver.NET v2; Philipp Keck) respect your privacy and strictly follow the applicable laws. Generally, no personal data is collected or processed at all on this website. The only exception is the data you enter yourself (voluntarily) in one of our contact forms in order to send it to us. Data from the contact forms (whether personal or not) is only processed and stored for the purposes of answering your questions and possible follow-up inquiries. In no way will we sell, rent or lease your personal information or give it to a third person in any other way.

Definitions

This data protection declaration uses the same terms as the European General Data Protection Regulation. Among others, we use the following key terms:

Personal data: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. A natural person can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier like a name, identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

Processing: Any (set of) operation(s) which is performed on personal data (sets),whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

Third party: A natural or legal person, public authority, agency or body other than the data subject, controller, processor and persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorised to process personal data.

Data collection on this website

Information like your name or your contact address(es), which you may have entered on our web site to create an account or to order licenses, were only processed for those purposes. Today, these functionalities are not available anymore and the respective data has been deleted.
As part of the regular usage of this website, general information (server logs) is collected, which includes information about your browser (incl. its version), your operating system (incl. its version), the website through which you reached our website (so-called referrer), the sub-websites you accessed, access date and time, your IP address and other similar data. None of this information makes you directly personally identifiable and processing this data is necessary for technical reasons in order to deliver the website to your device. In addition, this information is further anonymized (in particular, the IP address is not stored longer-term) and analyzed statistically in order to protect and improve our website.

Data collection in the software

The software X10Receiver.NET v2 processes most data directly on your computer. In general, no or only very little personal data is processed, none of which leaves your computer. In order to provide updates regularly, the software sends its current version number along with your IP address to our server, which only processes it in order to deliver updates and does not store it. When you use the contact form ("Send support request") inside the software, all data you enter there is transmitted to us and stored long-term in order to provide the best possible support. If you choose to attach your logfile ("Attach my logfile for troubleshooting"), it is transmitted and stored, as well. The logfile may sporadically contain personal data (e.g. the user name of your Windows account). If in doubt, you can view the logfile before sending it. We only use this data in order to answer your inquieries.

Former licensing system

Within the scope of our software validation system, we used to gather the following data from you: your name, your e-mail address and your HardwareID #1 and #2. Those HardwareIDs identify your computer but they don't allow to determine your identity or the hardware or the software you use. This data was only used for licensing matters. These were: Serial generation, validation and consignment, identification of incoming payments, notification about automatically changed serials and support requests. Today, this data is only stored and used for support requests and new data is only collected when you actively contact us for support. Information about PayPal's Privacy Policy is located here.
All data that reached us with your bank transfer was only used to assign your payment to your order and is possibly used for the inland revenue tax reports.

Right of confirmation, access, rectification, erasure and objection

You are entitled at any time to request confirmation and information about all data (beloning to you) stored on our servers, and about it's origin and purpose. Also you have the right to have your data rectified or erased. In order to exercise these rights, please contact us using one of the contact details at the top of this page. In addition, you have a legal right of objection against present and future processing of your personal data. This is our default anyway, as we only process personal data when you actively contact us.

Changes to this privacy statement

In order to reflect changed laws and/or our data processing practices, we update this privacy statement occasionally. When you visit this website again or keep using our software after an update, your data will be processed according to the new privacy statement. (If you absolutely want to avoid unnoticed changes to our privacy statement, please deactivate the automatic update function in the software.)

Further information

We take seriously the trust you place in us. If you have comments or questions about our privacy statement or about your personal data and how it is handled on our website, please don't hesitate to contact us (see the top of this page).
